Ms. Lee is the Executive Director of the Southwest Native Assets Coalition (SWNAC), where she manages staff and oversees the delivery of client services. A significant part of her work is leading strategic initiatives for organizational growth that includes investor and partnership development. With over a decade in retail banking and financial services as well as an early career in delivering social services, Ms. Lee offers clients, partners, and investors keen insight into how conventional financial services and the predatory lending industry operate in Indian Country as well as how the average tribal community member can achieve financial stability.
Ms. Lee’s core skills providing financial education, credit analysis for small-dollar loans, and leveraging community program assistance reflect her commitment to members of her rural Native community. Under her leadership SWNAC has designed and deployed culturally competent financial empowerment with the Sovereignty Through Education program. The program provides homebuyer education specific to tribal communities, relevant financial fitness tools and actionable asset-building strategies consistent with the needs and aspirations of tribal community members. Ms. Lee is bilingual, a skilled silversmith, rancher, and mother of three. She is an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation and hails from the community of Manuelito, New Mexico.
