Amine Benali, CFA

Resource Committee Member

Amine is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and brings with him a vast experience in investment analysis and management. He is a seasoned veteran of the investment management industry, a business development and capital advisory professional, and an educator and mentor of future impact capital allocators.

He spent his formative years in eastern Morocco in the border town of Oujda, where entrepreneurship had been a necessity, and where community members often banded together to support those in need. While fortunate and grateful for the opportunity to build a future in the United States, he has remained committed to the principles of cooperation and community service as the primary means of ensuring social harmony.

Amine's professional life has revolved around the capital markets as a manager of multi-billion-dollar global equity portfolios, and as an advisor to businesses, community development financial institutions (CDFIs), and impact funds. He is a faithful student of the valuation cycles and a strong believer in value as the cornerstone of all investment decisions. Value manifests itself when good unexplored businesses meet robust due diligence.

Amine has dedicated his academic life to Development Economics and poverty alleviation. He is a professor of Social Enterprise and Impact Investing at Northeastern University in Boston, MA, where he feels privileged to lecture and mentor the future leaders of the capital allocation business. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance from Northeastern University and a master’s degree in Economics from Boston University where he completed an independent study of the effectiveness of dam construction policies in Morocco.
